Plot Summary	After the scene in the bookstore, where Alvie Singer wants Annie Hall to read the books he likes...books on death and dying...we cut to the zoo in Central Park. Allen and Diane Keaton are sitting on a park bench 'goofing' on passers-by. I play one of two gay men who 'swish' by, prompting Allen to say, "Look at these two. They're hilarious. Like they just got back from Fire Island! Probably trying to make a go of it". (note: Webster's Dictionary defines hilarious as: Boisterously funny and gay). A brillant choice of word by screenwriter Allen, along with his direction to us to be very animated, telegraphing to the audience Alvie's view of New York and it's variety of people. By my accepting a role that other actor's had turned down, I found myself in the film that would be voted BEST PICTURE OF THE YEAR by the Acadamy Of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Not since Orson Welle's "Citizen Kane" would a filmaker find himself nominated for an Oscar in four top catagories: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Actor...a long over due thank you, Woody, for taking me along as you entered the pages of motion picture history. This would be my first appearance in an Oscar winning movie, but not my last! It was a GREAT 1978!
