Summary
Roberto and Maria are a young couple living in Montreal. After discovering they are not able to have a child on their own they decide to adopt. The child arrives from Romania and Roberto and Maria are very excited. They name her Cristina. Upon closer examination, to the shock of the young couple, it seems Cristina has been severely mistreated and may also have autism. Refusing to âsend her backâ the couple now have more than they were ready for. âDreamâ is the story of love, struggles, fears, desires, hopes and of course dreams.
âShe made me realize something: Iâm happiest when I dream. Those dreams are wonderful. Have you ever had one? Where itâs so wonderful you donât want to pinch yourself to wake up? Iâd imagine we all have dreams like that. Some of us are lucky though. Very lucky. When they go to pinch themselves, they donât wake up, because theyâre not asleep. Thatâs the dream I want to have: the one that is not.â
