Summary
Witnessing the backlash against Middle Eastern immigrants in the wake of 9/11, an aged second-generation Japanese-American relives his experiences as a young man during the Second World War, including time spent in a government internment camp with his mother. The memory of his father's arrest immediately after the Pearl Harbor attack comes to life again before his eyes as his Middle Eastern neighbor is arrested the morning of September 12th, 2001, shaking the foundation of his trust and faith in the United States that he has spent his life fighting to rebuild.
