Me and my two friends heard about the terrible conditions that were being forced on little girls and boys Almost 4 years ago I helped start a program in my community which entailed: making and bringing out food and donated or purchased clothes to homeless people where they were at. ( local parks) It started out with two hungry people and now has turned to 100-200 people that just need a hand. We have been lucky to enlist aid in our efforts, which include YALE UNIVERSITY'S kitchen, Gateway Church, and many more volunters. Also Me and my two friends heard about the terrible conditions that were being forced on little girls and boys so we went and took a fundraiser class and that is where it all began. I helped to coordinate and a host a charity auction and dinner in the summer of 2006 to benefit: Justice For Children International. It was a massive undertaking. We had to find a place, negotiate the price per plate (thank god they did). We also had to work with the city and the gamming board which entailed a lot of legal paperwork, then I went to many local businesses to see if they were willing to donate to our event, lucky for me I have wonderful people skills. I was able to ascertain many donations from the beautiful crystal chandelier, 100 gallons of heating oil (thanks to Tower Oil), Vintage and collector editions of various wines, Antique stereo system and many other items. Our Event was a complete success we raised around 10,000$ for children who really needed it. This was an idea by 3 regular women who then took a fundraising class and formed a committee of about 10. We proved that any one can make a difference you just have to try.
