Summary
"Her Vietnam" was inspired by true accounts of women who served in the US ARMY medical corp and female civilian nurses everywhere. This film centers around Captain Nancy Reeves, a 22 year-old nurse on the tail end of her volunteer tour in Vietnam. On the day she recieves her 'going home' papers, Nancy and her triage tent staff deal with the ultimate trauma of a night time base raid and a standoff with an armed young Viet Cong girl who wandered into the wrong tent. This story does not reflect pro or anti-war sentiments. Instead it is a story of humanity, leadership, and struggle to stay alive in an unpopular war told from the perspective of a woman, her medical staff, and soldiers.
