MARLENE DUPERLEY


Marlene Duperley is a combination of talent, tenacity and hardwork. She continues to take on the acting world step by step without compromise or regret for any performance she has given to date. Marlene realizes the struggle to be taken seriously in a career she loves so much but is determined to conquer the stereotypes that follow the true artist of the craft.

Marlene is a native of New York City. But was bor... Moren to parents that both are from and has lineage to the West Indies, India, Cuba and France! Thus her exotic look. She was raised in queens during her childhood and adolescent years and it was there at the age of ten she experienced her first commercial audition. That day was enough for her to know this would be a journey she had to take, no questions asked! At the age of thirteen she along with 6 other kids formed a dance company that performed at various clubs and parties for well known celebrities around New York City and Long Island. In grade school and high school she began to perform in every play and theatrical performance they produced, as well as tapping into her talent as an athlete. It wasn’t long after that Marlene became captain of the basketball, volleyball and girls’ softball team every year until graduation. Even playing for the boys’ basketball team when they threatened to shut down the girl’s team! After attending C.W. Post College, Marlene made her move into Manhattan to pursue her acting career but started Personal Training to pay the bills. It was there she was hired by major record labels to train their up and coming artists and then was asked to Host her first Hip Hop show…88HIPHOP. Since then she was been asked to join a repertory theater company started by Arthur French III. Her work in theater has gotten her two performances for The Samuel French Festivals 2004 and 2005 and one performance in the Fringe Festival NYC 04’. She has several theater productions to date and has worked on three major feature films, five independent feature and short films all with starring and supporting roles, and was the first winner of the popular Manhattan Monologue Slam. Marlene Duperley has just finished working on her sixth Short film that is slated for the Tropfest 2006. She also has a film being released in theaters this October called “They’re Just My Friends” where she plays a female assassin. Marlene also combines her creative talent as an artist and writer. She worked on her first commentary story that launched February 1st on 88HIPHOP.com and was asked to display her paintings for a feature article in “Stitch” Magazine, a new high fashion Magazine that was released in the States in 2003. Marlene will be featured in the Spring Issue 2006.

Marlene Duperley continues on her chosen path and everyday sees her opportunities grow. She truly expresses these blessings as a direct result of her strong faith in God.
