FredAlfred is an American fashion model turned singer/songwriter. From LA, to London, to the Dominican Republic, since he was born FredAlfred has been traveling the world and absorbing everything around him. The son of a Pakistani/Somali father, and Dominican/Puerto Rican mother FredAlfred found his identity and security in his diversity.''Of course there were times when I was called an Oreo or more recently a terrorist, but ultimately I think that there's a certain pride that comes with having a rich culture.'' In 2005 FredAlfred decided to expand his acting and modeling career, adding music. Immediately he began working with various producers and songwriters. ''It got to a point where I wasn't in control of my music anymore.. ya know? I was a voice and although I was making music that people could enjoy it wasn't the type of music that I enjoy. Of course I have the chops for R&B but I'll never be that guy. My mother was a blues singer and I grew up listening to that as well as various ethnic genres. As contradicting as it is, I like to sing the blues.. and I like to sing happy feel good music. ya know.. some pick me up type of shit.'' In 2006 FredAlfred broke away from the studio produced synthesized tracks and picked up his acoustic guitar. ''My baby's name is Sanchez, and I couldn't make sweet music without her'' Later in 2006 FredAlfred began to experiment in the studio. ''I love organic music, but I do also like genre's that involve synthesizers. I love funk, I love club music.. Cassie is my most recent obsession. I wanted to keep my roots but also add some of the new school flava into my music, so I purchased the necessary equipment and taught myself to make beats that fit my personality and style of music'' By 2008 FredAlfred was ready to release his self produced debut album ''Cigarettes and Lies''.
