  • About me
    New Jersey, United States
The up and coming star in the independent film world Benjamin Leon Newmark was born in Queens, NY on March 17, 1984. His family moved to Northern New Jersey where Benjamin was raised. In 2002 he wrote, directed & co-starred in comedic-spoof of 80's slasher films entitled "February The 29th"- the film gained him notoriety due to it's laughably funny poor quality. He then followed "Feb.the 29th" up with "Addicted." and "The Everlost Woods" which he both starred in along with most of his usual stable of actors consisting of Tom Courtney, Andy Patin, Jeff Keenan & Kevin McClure. All three of his first films were produced under his Deviant Behavior Productions (D.B.P). He then left producing to focus more on acting - mainly due to his lack of production success. His performing ranged from Off-Broadway stage productions, to commercials, to a vast amount of student films and other independent films. As his talents improved so did his roles, his status elevated and most of his performances became starring roles. This earned him the nickname of "The Famous", mostly as a pun to his self-proclaimed D+ Celebrity status, as he is well known locally, but no one else knows who the hell he is. His most notable film thus far is the upcoming "Ghostbusters: Generation". For his next project Benjamin will be working with his friend Johhny Bas on "Being Brando". He has dabbled in many fields of entertainment trying his hand in Radio Broadcasting, Stage Acting, Television & Film Acting/Writing/Producing/Directing as well as Stand-Up comedy. His biggest influences in film come from Peter Sellers, Bill Murray, Stanley Kubrick, Mike Myers, and Orson Welles. It was the film "Dr. Stangelove: Or How I Learned To Stop Worrying and Love The Bomb" that first inspired Benjamin to begin acting professionally. And it was a combination of the "Friday The 13th" films and "Bloody Murder" that convinced Benjamin that he could succeed in film and inspired him to try.
