    Film:
I was an extra in the “Crowley Project"(which stared Harrison Ford). I am also an acting and film student of Shelly Lipkin. I had a lead role in the independent film "Lords. It will be in several film festivals. My character was “Donnie.” It was shot in Seattle and my character was a member of the Mafia. I was there for several weekends for my scenes. We had a full sound and lighting crew. I was stabbed at the end so I have experience with make-up and special effects. I also helped set up the scenes and establish proper camera angles for several scenes.

    Television:
I have helped produce several commercials and I had the lead in a commercial that aired for 1 week solid on various major cable channels. I have also been interviewed for news stories. I have taken numerous television and acting classes from Professors at Clark College. I am also on time to every set and will also work for free. I sometimes help set up the sets and hold microphones and lights as well.

    Theater:
I have 4 years of intense experience in live theater. I can memorize pages of lines and cues and execute them perfectly. I have landed key roles in several plays. My biggest role was when I landed the role of Marquis De Lafayette (a French-American hero in the Revolutionary war). For this role, I learned a perfect French accent for the play "The Trial of George Washington". The play was in Downtown Portland and was performed in a 100 year old theater with a full stage crew, professional lighting and wireless microphones and stage with over 100 unique, custom backdrops. I also played the lead role twice in the bi-annual Shriners Hospital historic play about the origins of the Shriners organization. The play required me to memorize pages of lines and cues and we received a standing ovation.

    Commercials:
I have helped produce and acted in several commercials promoting my businesses and I have also been in a commercial that aired on Television for 1 week solid.

    Modeling:
I am the founder and owner of a clothing company that I started when I was in college. Over the last 8 years I modeled for the company catalog and advertisements as well as hired models for the different advertising campaigns. I also used my Spanish extensively during these photo shoots.

    Training:
I have had 4 solid years of starring in complex plays with dozens of actors , full stage crew and first class lighting and sound. In these plays I was required to memorize up to 10 pages of lines and cues along with full make-up and costume. I have been involved in public speaking for over 10 years. I have spoken to large crowds at fundraisers and charity events.

    Special Skills:
I am a professional Dog Trainer and Handler
    I speak Fluent Spanish
    4 years of theatre
10 years of public speaking at events
I can memorize up to 10 full pages of lines and information

I’ll be honest with you: when Joseph first came into my acting class, I didn’t think he had it in him. But, as is Joseph’s way, he learned what he had to learn to meet a goal he had, and then he surprised me, and the whole class.

He went from being an actor who could make nice political speeches, make safe improvisational choices and do Big Anger, to an actor with incredible nuance, inner depth of feeling, subtlety, and intense connectivity with his fellow actors and audience. He became electric, captivating to watch, edgy, and even dangerous in the risks he took to uncover a character.

When he first came in he liked to play the bad guy, the bully cop, the control freak. He was good at this. He seemed to be stuck here. So I told him he had to do a monologue that was softer, where he cared about something.

His monologue was exquisite, deep, caring, realistic. He showed a beautiful soft, vulnerable aspect of himself we had not seen before. He was able to visualize and bring us into what he was seeing. We sensed his inner feelings, and were drawn into caring what he felt and said. He hooked us.

I have full faith that with Joseph’s intense abilities to apply himself and to open to whatever lessons are in the offering, his dogged determination to get good at this craft and to become successful at it, that he can handle the rigors of acting school, coolly handle the personal adjustments he needs to make with matter-of-factness, and grow in depth and breadth as an actor.

I also have full faith that Joseph is going to make it in the business. He has the rare pointed ambition that few people who try out the business have.

Let him in The Academy. You’ll enjoy the ride with Joseph.
