Chanda grew up in Ohio.
Her Father, a mechanical engineer and Mother, a secretary who later devoted her time as a homemaker, enrolled Chanda in Modeling School at the age of 12. Their intentions were only to polish her with poise and feminity, but modeling became one of Chanda's greatest of passions.
While in High School, Chanda attended John Robert Powers School of Modeling. Maintaining a straight A average, she graduated from the school of modeling and was selected as one of a few candidates to attend The Modeling Association of America's International Convention at the Waldorf Astoria, in New York City in 1985.
When Chanda returned home, she signed her first modeling contract with The Hogue-Fox Modeling Agency of Cleveland. She accomplished numerous booking assignments for runway and promotionals.
In 1987, Chanda won several contest titles such as 'Miss Hawaiian Tropic', 'Miss Cleveland National Air Show', and 'Miss Robin Guitar' to name a few.
Later, Chanda went on to further her skills by attending advanced courses at John Casablanca's School of Modeling and was offered a non-exclusive contract with Elle Model Management of Cleveland. She was the tallest fashion model in the agency and booked countless fashion shows as well as spokes-modeling jobs for local clients.
In 1990, Chanda listed with Taxi Model Management of Cleveland. Her first runway booking was for CHANEL.
At this time, she also acquired national magazine, catalog, and newspaper publications.
Chanda eventually became an independent model/talent, booking national and international print publications, numerous radio and television appearances as well as continuing fashion shows.
In 1996, Chanda relocated to Miami's South Beach, where she was given her first speaking part in a major motion picture by Film Director Mike Newell, in Columbia/TriStar Pictures production, 'Donnie Brasco'.
During this time, Chanda also booked tea-room fashion shows at the exclusive Fisher Island for Couture Designer, Husky Bueno of Venezuela, South Beach fashion shows for Gena Lann, as well as guest appearances on Deco Drive TV.
In late 2000, Chanda went back to her hometown, and The Fine Arts Academy to study acting. She also attended The Cleveland Playhouse to study commercial acting. In addition, she hired a personal acting coach, Mitchell Fields, whom is greatly respected among everyone in the acting community of Cleveland.
In 2002, Chanda returned to Miami's South Beach where she continued studying acting at the The Acting Studio of Hollywood. She has since been selected for principal parts in television commercials, and has co-hosted a national infomercial.
Chanda has also been selected as a Signature Model for the Juan Pablo Collection, and cover model for Boa Novelty Corporation. She appeared in national print publications for Navigator Yachts and designer gowns for Debra Hampton's 'Red Carpet Collection'.
Chanda-Lee is dedicated to her craft. Her experience has acquired her a unique style as a model, and ability as an actress. Afterall, a dream is the heart's passion!
