Living a good part of her life in the South, Sarah Marissa Gabriel decided to have a little change, by attending Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY. She will be graduating May 2007 in IMC (Integrated Marketing Communication), with a minor in OCLD (Organizational Communication, Learning and Design) and German.
Sarah’s dream was to work in the Media and secretly she always had the aspiration to act. But her family advised against it and told her it was important to receive an education.
After college she is hoping to follow her career path in Los Angeles, CA. She wants to work in the entertainment business as an account executive for advertising, marketing or casting film and television. In the future, she is aiming to open her own production company that will specialize in casting and marketing. Companies, such as 20 Fox Century and Sony Pictures, are places that Sarah would like to be a part of. She already had the opportunity to work with Sony Pictures in Los Angeles. Other companies, such as McCann Erickson, Innovage, Supper Nanny Production, Creative Element X and Mali Finn casting, are sources that Sarah had the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience from.
Sarah didn’t always have interest in the field of communication. When she was a little girl, Sarah took ballet and ended up in one of Europe’s finest Ballet Academy for the gifted. However, her scholarship ended and she had to let her dream to become a ballerina go. Sarah then fell into the modeling and acting industry and pursued the career for most of her high school years, but modeling took too much out of her. She kept trying to attend auditions on the side for acting jobs. She landed it onto various independent projects. Lately Sarah, made it on two shows that helped her financial education.
Sarah’s interests not only are acting singing and dancing. They range from the outdoors to designing ads and making pictures look “celebrity perfect” on Photoshop. She enjoys traveling and learning about different cultures. Sarah luckily gained a lot of travel experience through her family.
Sarah’s family started moving frequently once Sarah was born in Chicago, IL. She then moved to Germany, to India, to Dallas, to the United Arab Emirates. Acting and entertaining was part of Sarah’s life from the very beginning. Her family sang together in a quartet and she took on various acting roles in her school years. She loves making smile and she feels by entertaining she can reach anyone. She is very close with her whole family and believes that without her father, she would have never had the chance to become the person she is. She finds home in all countries she lived in and has each place close to her heart. When people ask her where she is from, she says Dallas, because she lived there the longest, but in all honesty she feels she is from everywhere.
