My name is Deshawn Devante a.k.a ddevante started modeling in 2001. I first stepped into the music video scene with Mary J. Blige's video, Family Affair. The cute skinny kid that is seen dancing with Mary J. Blige..s sister has been in numerous video..s such as Fat Joe & R. Kelly, Red & Method Man, Amerie, India Arie, Angie Martinez, Sean Paul, Busta Rhymes, Rah Digga, Khia, and Da Band.

I have also graced the pages of several magazines such as Vibe, Source, Slam, Today..s Blackmen, Today..s Blackwomen, Don..s & Diva..s, Floss, Jet, Right On, and an international Japanese magazine "Woffin". I have also done some professional ads for Speed Stick & Reebok.

I have appeared on various shows such as Apollo, Ricki Lake, MTV, and 106 & Park as an upcoming actor. I have shown my skills in a commercial aired on AMC (American Movie Channel) and in the 2002 movie Brown Sugar starring Taye Diggs & Sanaa Lathan.

Currently I am making a highly anticipated transition from modeling to acting. I have attended The Spirited Actor Workshop with acting coach, Tracy Moore-Marable. I've done some theatre work, plays which include: Have Mercy Lawd, Lost, and The Elections. I am a highly motivated individual with great hopes of becoming a well respected and talented actor.
