Born into an artistic family, Crystal Shaniece Roman grew up intrigued by the world of art and film, inspired by her family's contribuitions. As her great grandfather was a succsseful band member in the Duke Ellington band and her uncle play with great Latin legends like Carlos Santana and Mark Anthony , it was no surprise that it was in Crystal's blood to be a star. She attended the High or Fashion Industries and studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts at age 17. Crystal soon graduated with a Bachelor's in Marketing and Management and a minor in Sociology from the College of Staten Island in New York. The film A Weapon Most Unusual won Best Musical in the short film genre in the New York International Film Festival where she played a leading role and she received the Semi-Finalist title at the Strawberry One Act Festival for the play A Murder at the Church. This past summer she worked on A Family's Play and He Said, She Said both by Diversity Players of Harlem and filmed It Wasn't for Love by Chynna Workz Productions/309 Films. She is currently touring for her second season with Latino Flavored Productions hit show Yo Soy Latina!
