About me
North Hollywood, California, United States
Sophisticated, determined, smart and innovative are what Andrea is described to be. Raised on a farm in Akron Alabama, Andrea was born to work the stage, where she started off acting in 1st grade in small scenes that gave her very little exposure to the audience. At age six, Andrea acted as the main character in a play called ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ 1989, where she blew up the stage with her strong, courageous voice. After years and years of experience, at the age of 12, Andrea starred in a major production play called ‘Happily Ever After’ 1994 at the Akron High School where she acted as the main character giving off her happy and energetic side to the fun full-filling play and fairy tale.
She focuses on expressing herself on and off the stage while transforming into multiple personalities. In 2000 Andrea starred in the matinee ‘Escape to Freedom: A Play about Young Frederick Douglas’ by Ossie Davis that won her Best Actress of the Year Award for 2001. Graduating from high school and eager to seek her dream career in acting and dancing, Miami was the place to go to learn new talents and seek opportunities in the entertainment field. There she joined Capital Punishment Dance Theatre, which was a popular entertainment organization that focused on expressing themselves through lyrical and theatrical dance. As Vice-President, she has lead by example and has always been a motivating person encouraging others to put forth maximum effort and remembers to live life to the fullest.
Andrea has played a major part in National Competitions such as Dance America Competitions in New York City, Las Vegas, Chicago, and Tampa, Florida to name a few where her organization has won 1st place three years in a row. In BET Spring Bling 2003 they were ranked “One of the Top Ten dance teams in America”. She has been seen performing live at Miami Heat Halftime Shows, a mock Janet Jackson performance in Miami, and as a chore dancer for “I just want to be loved” music video song by upcoming R & B Artist Marz. In 2004 she is also seen as a sexy lady in “Bad Girl” Music Video song by R & B Artist Jay Smoove. Andrea has currently appeared in the movie “National Lampoons: Pledge this” starring Paris Hilton. In June 2005 Andrea moved to Los Angeles to pursue her dream as an actress networking with many producers and directors to make herself known. Within two months she landed a dance gig with the TV show ‘The Drop’, a Latino hip hop music/dance show that focuses on keeping the hip hop in the Latino culture. She sets the year 2006 off right working on the movie set ‘Dream Girls’ where she works with Beyonce Knowles, Eddie Murphy, and Jamie Foxx as a stage fan named Loretta. Working hard and diligently with her manager, her stage name ‘LaNee’, which she used when she’s on stage as a dancer and an actor, helps to create her other personality. Her charisma and patience has gotten her this far and she is still working hard working towards her dream as an actress.
“Even though I’ve been faced with many challenges”, says Andrea “I’ve never let anything defeat me. My main objective in life is to always help and serve others by giving people that extra ‘spark’ to make them smile, and that in return makes me complete.”
