About me
Palm Springs, California, United States
I am a Native of Sao Paulo, Brazil. After obtaining Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics and Portuguese Language at the University of Sao Paulo I moved to the U.S. in 1990. That same year I started teaching Portuguese at Claremont Language Academy. In 1993, I taught Portuguese at the Los Angeles Harbor College Extension Program. My enthusiasm for movies turned my interest into writing screenplays. I am currently working for a Government Agency as a caseworker. This experience has provided me with the opportunity to gain perspectives into many diverse cultures. My experience and education have given me the ability to write stories portraying different situations. I take advantage of what I learn on a daily basis. I am also fluent in Spanish. My love for music and years choir singing inspired me to become a part-time performer, singing Brazilian music, mostly Samba and Bossa Nova. I currently perform with a local Palm Springs Group called “Rio Colors” and I also play the guitar.I am continuing to develop my skills in screenwriting by attending workshops at colleges such as UCR – Palm Desert, the Writer’s Building Online as well as at the critiques and meetings at Film Festivals such as the Palm Springs International Film Festival. I have written four feature-length screenplays and two shorts on spec. In 2005, one of my feature length scripts made the semi-finals at the Screenplay Festival in Los Angeles.
