Darcell has emerged as the gospel music industry’s new vibrant, dynamic vocalist with a powerful message of encouragement for today’s generation. “Commissioned to offer hope in a world full of uncertainty is my purpose.”
Born in Detroit, MI, Darcell started performing at an early age with appearances in numerous music festivals and concerts. By the time Darcell graduated High School, she had already performed in London, England and at the White House in Washington, D.C. for the Secret Service Christmas Party.
By the age of 19, Darcell signed her first recording contract. Darcell has also been featured as background singer for Gospel recording Artist David Ivey and was a member of Motor City Mass (produced by Platinum Recording Artist Fred Hammond). Darcell’s beautiful singing voice has also been featured in several radio commercials.
Most recently, Darcell played the lead female role of Hope Hunter in the sensational hit gospel play, “The Night I Fell in Love” (My Purpose Productions). As the Youth Pastor of a dynamic large ministry in Detroit, MI, Darcell has imparted wisdom learned from her life lessons to younger generations.
The title song “Joy” from her debut CD “Joy is Better” has garnered the number “1” spot on the Top 25 Countdown on several of Detroit’s number one gospel stations and is currently in heavy rotation across the country. Darcell is fearlessly taking it to the streets with the goal of reaching those who need to hear what is means to have real “joy.”
