    Brooklyn, New York, United States
    ALIAS/NICKNAME: D-Wise
(There is a meaning behing his nickname)

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and partly raised in Boston, MA, Daniel strived to become the best he could be with the encouragement of his mother. He became gifted by the age of 10 as he started writing poetry and won the attention of his family. Sorrowfully, his mother died during the same year and caused him to move to Boston by 1997, where he realized his talents. He soon studied the art of entertainment when he reached intermediate school. He first enrolled at Grover Cleveland Middle School for the Visual and Performing Arts, where he participated in the schools’ chorus, drama club, and track team. In-between his after school hours, he later joined with Project Concern Youth Dance Company and toured around half the country performing hip-hop dance. As he grew nearly 7 years with them, his skills began to increasingly progress.

In 1999, he attended The Roland Hayes School of Music, a magnet program part of Madison Park Technical Vocational High School. There he studied percussion, wind, bass and took a major part in studying vocal. He became a member of the schools’ gospel choir and studied other people talents. Motivated by what he observed, he wanted to bring unity within his school as he created his own dance team named “Understanding New Identity Through Youth (UNITY)” and soon matured into “Raw Flava”.

Around his junior year, he became more involved in the community. He worked as a Youth Teacher’s Aide at The Eliot Educational Center in Roxbury, and served as a pleasant role model to the children and also grew fond to the staff for 4 years. Soon he joined The Eliot Church of Roxbury Choir and sung a few solo’s which helped him gain some confidence. Months after, Daniel became a member of the TRUE Hip-Hop Culture Center in Boston. He learned about the entertainment industry and was introduced to T.R.U.E. Magazine and experimented in the recording studio there. The center also educated him on stage presence and artist critique. He networked with fellow mates and became a back-up dancer for 2 independent rap groups.

Entering his adulthood, he started school, enrolling at Bunker Hill Community College in 2003, studying theatre and was a member of the drama club. At the time of his higher learning, he applied at another studio gaining more experience where he linked up with a close friend and began his quest to stardom. They both worked together, searching for auditions and soon became a vocal duo by the name of “G-Cue & D-Wise” and transformed to “Tru Confessionz”.

By spring of 2004, they both eventually started a quartet named “First Impression” and performed around the city doing mini-concerts. And in the late summer of that year, they were discovered by an independent label, Nu Tyme Entertainment and soon cooperated with one artist for quite some time. Unfortunately by early 2005, the group broke up and left Daniel to continue his journey into finding an open door to the industry as he relocates back to New York for another chance at stardom. But before he dismissed from Boston, he gave a shot at reality TV as he tried out for a karaoke-idol show made for cable TV called “It Is What It Is” from studio 6 entertainment, where he made it to the semi-finals. Getting the star treatment while there, he took it with pride and left the city with confidence.

During his new journey, he has took some new challenges auditioning for different gigs. Many have been successful but some might have been a disappointment when it was realized he talent wasn’t the case, it was the image that most companies were looking for. But he never gave up and continued to pursue what he wanted. By August of 2005, he took himself to a new level, auditioning for season 5 of American Idol as one of the many hopefuls to get on the show. Unfortunately, he didn’t make the cut. But in December of 2005 he got his first cut as he was cast as David Alexander in a Behold All Things Become New Production of “James Baldwin’s The Amen Corner”. And during his luck in March of 2006 he was selected to be a contestant on season 2 of the FOX reality show “So You Think You Can Dance” And following that was a host of shows including, a role for the reading of an off-off Broadway musical titled “The Gospel Show” at The La Mama Center . Also his vocal performances in a Queens Talent Show called “Community Idol” where he became the 2nd Place winner/(runner up), another at “BPL IDOL” and “Star Icon: A Singing Competition” . A cast-off in The Riant Theater’s online reality acting competition: “Who’s Got Game”. And recently joined a cast for a 2-week run of an off-off Broadway production titled “ Standards of Decency Project” by The Blue Coyote Theater Group/The Access Theater. The play returned back by popular demand in January 2007 after the first week of production. Now, Daniel will be featured in an independent film titled “Pressure” from Pressure Entertainment films/Abdu Dandridge, director. The movie will be in production of July 2007 and hopes to be released to the IFC by early next year.
