Ben Marquis Jr.

Ben has been studying theatre and dance for many years and plans to continue as a student of these art forms for the rest of his life. With a reputation as a hard worker who attacks every role as a challenge, Ben is an artist with a supreme work ethic who loves his work and is tireless in his pursuit of complete and whole theatrical creation and characters that live and breathe in the moment.

Ben has had featured roles in a long list of productions, his favorites include West Side Story (Chino/Pepe), The Laramie Project (Jedediah Shultz/Aaron McKinney), What’s Wrong With Angry (Glen), Romeo and Juliet (Tybalt), and Cabaret (Emcee). Often the bolder challenge is the character part or multiple role performance and Ben has had several of these, notably Fireman in the new play, Backswing , Cabdriver/Haberdasher/Nathaniel un Kiss Me Kate, and the dual personalities of Derek/Will in Aloha Says The Pretty Girls, and Collin in the new play Lesbian Witches of Ojai.

Ben has been nominated for the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship for several of his productions and has received scholarships and recognition through his various performance and training venues. Ben is trained in martial arts and various sports, is bilingual, and has training in stage combat and dialects. Ben would like to thank his family and friends for all of their constant love and support throughout his career.
