    Joe Herrera was born Jose Rafael Herrera on September 27, 1973. Born & raised in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, Joe is the oldest of 3 children. Joe started acting at the age of 9 in Elementary school where he first appeared as a bus patron in a Martin Luther King, Jr. play, followed by various roles during Middle and High School. It was then he realized that the acting would be his true calling.

    Joe furthered his professional theater training at Brooklyn College where he studied with actor/instructor, F. Murray Abraham, Diane Barracuda, Marge Linney, David Garfield and Mark Zeller. Joe studied with Janice Cavalier as a trained tenor and has also studied Dance at the Broadway Dance Center in NYC. He is continually honing his craft in Orlando, FL with actor/instructor Rus Blackwell from the film "Monster" starring Charlize Theron, and stars in Cinemax's Banshee, at the Actor's School.

    Joe Herrera is a proud member of the Actors Equity Association, AFTRA, and is also SAG eligible. His credits, just to name a few, include off-Broadway productions with Elizabeth Swados' The Hating Pot", Director Curtiss Cook's The Resting Place", Ralph Lee's Heart of the Earth: A Popol Vuh Story", and "Ferdinand The Bull" a TheatreWorksUSA tour. Independent film roles included "The Girl in the Watermelon" alongside Actress Meredith Scott Lynn and Actor, Lazaro Perez which was directed by Sergio Castilla and had a TV premiere on Starz Network, and Pyscho Sisters. On PBS' Ghostwriter, Joe played "Quincy", the paraplegic/former gang member who inspires his brother to stay off the streets, and played small stint roles on "America's Most Wanted" and "Law & Order."

    Joe is actively working as an Actor living in the Orlando, Florida area with his wife, Vanessa and their 6 children.
