Being an Asian American isn't the hardest thing in the world, nor the easiest. However, Being Asian American has its perks, I get to live two lives, will.......... thats what I like to think anyways. Im getting ahead of myself, I almost forgot to introduce myself, my apologies. Hello there!!!!!! My name is Vonnie, Im 17 years old, and my favorite number is 3. Thats very ironic, since I was born on the 3rd month of the year and on the third day of that month. Weird right? Weird isn't even the word my friends would use to describe me. Im a "curiosity" says my best friend Noelle. I love to meet new people, and travel as often as possible. I believe that life is never given, it can be taken from you in a split of a second, so always live for the simple moments and remember those moments that did take your breathe away. Any who thats enough with that, Being Asian American has given me the opportunity to live two separate lives. Being Asian your held to a higher standard, you get to experience and live through this beautiful culture and are educated on family values and morals from birth. Can you say robotic......... Being American I have freedom, freedom of choice. I get to be more modern and live the life that many from Asia wished they had. I like being that shy asian girl who has her asian morals and values, however I was raised in the part of town, where we mudd, we have bon fires every friday nights, and football was our religion. The best of both worlds. When I was little we used to have this set plan, honor student through out high school, Harvard than off to be a doctor. In the back of my mind, I had always dreamt of pursuing a career in entertainment. People would continuously tell me that Asians are never in movies, they'll never break out into that world. Im out to prove them wrong. Saying it and doing it are two different things, I want it now I have to go out and get it. The one thing about me is that when I set out to accomplish a goal I give it my all, 120% of me. I have tried various of things, but my true love is entertainment. In elementary I was in every school play I could get into, in middle school I entertained my audience with competitive gymnastics and cheer, now in high school, Im hopping that maybe just maybe with a little faith, hope, and a lot of luck, I can achieve one more goal before going off to med school or the military .
