Mitzi has over 5 years experience working with children in performing arts and artistic development in the San Jose, CA area. Classically trained in college, Mitzi promotes the Speech Level Singing technique made famous by Seth Riggs. This technique allows the student to increase their vocal range safely, without stress and strain leading to possible injury. Mitzi has recently studied with CeCe Sammy, vocal coach for Britainâs âPop Idolâ and songwriter Penny Framstad, Gold Record honoree for music from the film â10 Things I Hate About Youâ and participated in an âAuditioning for Broadwayâ workshop with Boko Susuki, musical director for Rent.
She is a teaching artist at the acclaimed Children's Musical Theater of San Jose and also participates as a theater arts teacher in their community out-reach program at local elementary schools. Additional talents include sight singing, back-up vocals and harmony, piano, dance, public speaking, product promotion, Dialects: Southern, Valley, British, French, character voices; horseback riding, rollerblading, running, art, bolwing, bking, swimming, snow skiing, gourmet cooking, former print modeling, personable with adults, children, and pets. Her vocal expertise encompasses all vocal styles, including, musical theatre, classical, jazz, and pop.
Mitzi's next role is as Mrs. Salt in the Tabard Theater upcoming production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
