Multi-faceted East-African performing artist, Miriam Chemmoss,
has spent the last 10 years working in theatre, film, television, radio,
commercials, industrials, voiceovers, musical performances.
Miriam is a trained actress, performing artist, journalist and activist.
She has a degree in both Communications/Journalism and Theater
from Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa.
Miriam has also interned and worked as a broadcaster for Voice of
Am... Moreerica, International Broadcasting, a multimedia broadcasting service
in Washington, DC.
At V.O.A, Miriam hosted two shows and co-hosted "Africa World Tonight"
with "English to Africa's finest journalists such as Ted Roberts,Sonny Young, amongst others.
Miriam Chemmoss is also a trained and professional actress who's been
featured in independent and feature films, TV Shows like "The District", "Bedford
Diaries"; PSA's,Industrials, Radio Voice-Overs & Promos. In theater, Miriam has
performed in numerous local and regional theatrical productions such as "Deadwood Dick",Burtonsville Players, in Maryland, Kirov's Nutracker at the Kennedy Center in Washington,DC,"Eating Out"- Shea Theater, NYC; "Scrolls, The Book of Life",
Pantheon Theater, NYC, "Job and the Snake", "Aesop", both by Cube City
Entertainment in NYC... amongst others.
Miriam is currently working on several projects, sharing her music and supporting a range of causes she is passionate about such as the plight of AIDS orphans in AFRICA,Education and Peace in Kenya as well as Hope for those affected by war
and other disasters. When she is not performing she is in the studio
completing her debut album.
Her single, "Rudi" is doing well in several radio stations and TV
stations all over Africa,(MTV Base),Europe(BBC Radio-UK) and the US(VOA(DC)SARFM(NY) amongst others.
