Lori was born in Toledo, OH and received her BFA in Acting from Wright State University. Right out of college, she toured the country as a singer in a Top 40 cover band, and moved to Chicago soon after. She is an alumnus of the National Touring Company of The Second City, and was honored to perform with them in Iraq and Kuwait as part of a USO Tour in 2004. She works with Second City's Business Communications and Theatricals ... Moredivisions, both as a performer and instructor, and recently toured with the musical, âSex and the Second City.â She is a resident understudy for the Second City Mainstage and ETC shows, recently completing a summer-long run of the ETC show, âImmaculate Deception.â She is a founding member of The WNEP Theater Foundation, with whom she wrote and performed in many productions; most notably, a musical entitled âThe Wicked and the Sexedâ (New City's 1997 Best Original Musical Production). You may also have seen her improvise with the all-female group, âSirens,â âComedySportzâ and in their productions âBlind Date,â âWhose Chorus Line Is It Anyway?â (co-creator and director) and âTrois'.â One of her favorite scripted roles was Xena Warrior Princess in âXena Live!â Lori can also be heard as the lead singer for the jazz group, the âLori McClain Trio.â She was the artist-in-residence at the University of Chicago Lab School summer drama program in 2005, and currently teaches and coaches numerous improv groups around town. She occasionally improvises with I.O.âs fully improvised rock opera, âBaby Wants Candy,â and is the voice of Shiva in the upcoming âMortal Kombatâ video game series.
