Actor in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States

From as far back as I can remember I always wanted to be an actor. I first got my start in acting begining my freshman year at high school. That was actually he first chance I had to get into acting as my previous school never offered anything along the lines of acting. The first oppurtunity I got I took it and I pursed it right through high school studying drama, improvisation, and most importantly stage acting. I took advantage and worked on school plays which included Guys and Dolls, Grease, ... Moreand Bye Bye Birdie. After high school I took some time off of school and took acting classes in Atlantic City studying at Weist Barron Ryan. After a few months studying at Weist Barron Ryan I wanted to attend college to pursue other interests Those intrests included theatre, writing, and philosophy. I got off to a rocky start with the then teacher and also director of the plays, Bill Headington. His feelings included that I did not belong in the theatre because I talked with a little bit of a slang and basically always let my feelings be known. I was held down around every turn with Bill as he made sure I would not get any parts in any of the plays in which he directed. That would all soon change as I finally got the oppurtunity to write, direct, and also star in my own play as it was a choice of being a final project for my advance theatre class. I called the play Wednesday Night Live as it was a spinoff of Saturday Night Live. It got a pretty good response as it pretty much packed the house on opening night and also got me recognition amongst fellow theatre actors/ress. I also remebers Bill's response when asked his opinion, " Some things just do not belong in Theatre." The next semester I wanted to get under Bill's skin so I chose to take the acting class he was teaching. It took one semester for me and him to earn each other's respect as he saw that I took acting seriously and he finally cast me in Much Ado About Nothing as well as Romeo and Juliet. After I received my Associate's Degree in Theatre and Liberal Arts I decided I came to a cross road as I had to make a decision to either further my studies or to pursue acting. At that time I was writing a lot of scripts and wanted to learn more about film as I felt I had learned all I was going to learn about theatre. I applied and was accepted to join Temple University for their Film and Media Arts program. As you can say I hit the ground with my feet running. My first semester I found myself already doing film shorts and learning to edit on Final Cut Pro. It was lots of work but very exciting for me as I was meeting and working with new faces on a daily basis. Not only was I able to be behind the scenes but I was still able to act in the projects that we made. In the three semesters that I have, and still am attending Temple, I have learned more than I have ever expected. I am now going to start pursuing more jobs outside of college to get more experience on my resume which is where I stand now.
