BASIC
Hanna Edwards
Actor
in Brooklyn, New York, United States
Born and raised near Washington, DC, Hanna got her first taste of performing in stage presentations at George Mason High School in Falls Church, VA. She performed in shows including MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM; WORKING ; a new adaptation of DRACULA; THE LAND OF COUNTERPANE, and commedia dell arte. Here, Hanna developed a love of improv, clowning, and a good racy period comedy!
In college at University of Michigan, Hanna explored medieval drama and language with the Harlotry Players of the Res... Moreidential College, appearing for them in a medieval poetic version of THE MADNESS OF KING NEBUCHADNEZZAR. She also studied Eugene O'Neill's works at great length, appearing in scenes from A LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT, and studied Alexander Technique and jazz dance.
As strong as the early impulse to perform was, Hanna decided to pursue other life experiences, and moved to New York City immediately after graduating from Michigan. What followed was a decade of a life well-lived, with time spent in the professional sports world, intellectual property, and real estate agency and investing. In 2005, Hanna left the 9 to 5 world to become a real estate agent and hasn't looked back. In addition to her real estate practice, she also has a thriving t-shirt and promotional products business. The need to perform returned early in 2007, like a biological clock ticking. With the exception of a principal role in 2002's ZERO TOLERANCE, Hanna had not performed on stage or screen for ten years. Since then, she has begun performing in background roles regularly and recently played a major role in J.Q. Alston's "Martini Shot". Supporting roles in "Kimchi" (later retitled Sunhee), and "The Price of Art" starring Louis Zorich, followed. Upcoming are supporting roles in the short film "Birds" as well as "Hooker Fortress II".
