Matt K. Miller--- Began working professionally as an actor while still at university. Following the completion of his theatre degree, he moved to Chicago and earned his living as an actor for several years before moving to Los Angeles. There he enjoyed a rich career that included theatre (The Royal National Theatre of Great Britain's production of AN ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE with Sir Ian McKellen), film ("GODS AND GENERALS with Robert Duvall), television ("SANTA BARBARA"; "GENERAL... More HOSPITAL"; "OFF CENTRE"; "COURTHOUSE"), and voice-over (hundreds of roles including Tenchi Masaki in the four series and three "TENCHI-MUYO" movies). While in Los Angeles, Matt was appointed Artistic Coordinator for the Classical Theatre Lab, an actor's "gym" that meets Monday nights to perform scenes and monologues to be coached by luminaries of the acting profession, including Olympia Dukakis, Alan Rickman, Patrick Stewart, Brain Cox, Richard Dreyfuss, Lynn Redgrave, to name a few. The Lab presented a regular season of staged readings, chamber performances and periodic full productions. In 2002 Matt was approached by then Sacramento Theatre Company Artistic Director, Peggy Shannon to become a company member. Since then Matt has appeared on both STC stages in roles such as Iago in OTHELLO, Elyot in PRIVATE LIVES, Salieri in AMADEUS, Tartuffe, Scrooge, George in OF MICE AND MEN, and all forty characters in FULLY COMMITTED, among many others. His STC directing credits include STRINGA TREE, QUEEN OF THE REMOTE CONTROL, TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE, THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, THE OWL AND THE PUSSYCAT and BRIGHTON BEACH MEMOIRS; as well as STC's Young Professional Conservatory's productions of TWELFTH NIGHT, ROMEO AND JULIET and MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING. He's also been a regular teacher for the Young Professional Conservatory's Master Classes and summer camp program, as well as a private acting coach. His playwriting has been seen at STC in productions of MOTHER GOOSED!, his autobiographical one-man show FITS AND PARTS: MY LIFE IN STAGES (written in less than two weeks) and a staged reading of BEAT ASIDE APOLLO'S ARROW, which was recently awarded runner-up in the New England Theatre Conference national play competition. In 2010, Matt was appointed Artistic Director of STC, a LOA to LORT D regional theatre with an annual operating budget of over one million dollars. Now free-lancing again, Matt is a proud member of American and Canadian Actors' Equity Associations, SAG-AFTRA, the Dramatists Guild and the Society of American Fight Directors.
