Andre J. Parr aka Dre P., was born on August 17th, in Toledo, Ohio. HolyToledo is a small Midwestern town in Ohio noted for being a rendezvous point for notorious Detroit gangsters in the early 1920’s. His unparalleled sound and style was born during his freshman year in high school while rapping in the halls of Central Catholic HS. After graduating high school he dropped out of college and walked away from a partial football scholarship. He began to pursue a career in music while he worke... Mored as a tutor for children with autism. In the fall of 2005 Shawn Stockman of “Boyz II Men” noticed a star quality in young Andre and began to work with him on developing his music and encouraged him to market his music independently. Dre P. then began to create projects and sell them out the trunk of his car. He enlisted the talents of some of Toledo’s top emcees and soon formed a group called Da Fly Guyz and a Independent label Fly Guy Ent. Dre P. then released ‘Big Flipper’ a regional club classic which officially put him on the Midwest hip hop radar. With a proper delivery and a motivational message to your local dope boyz, people slowly began to listen. Dre P. addressed the street life, the downs and the consequences of entering the game, approaching hip-hop from a different angle.
Dre P. then decided to take his show on the road. Female fans reacted in droves flocking to front rows so they could get next to hip hop’s sexiest artist since a young LL Cool J burst onto the scene with Def Jam in the 1980s, or perhaps more recently Nelly, putting St. Louis on the map. Dre P. then appeared on television shows like Showtime at the Apollo and BET’s 106th&Park by literally just showing up and giving impromptu performances to show producers and hosts. In the summer of 2009’, after being duped into an audition for an energy drink commercial by a girlfriend, Dre P. ended up being VH1s “Tool Academy 2”. He got a huge popularity boost and connected with lady fans when he was chosen and almost won the show. Polls proved he was the shows’ most popular character. He is currently cast for ‘Love Games 4” which premieres on the Oxygen network fall of 2012. Dre P. knows no boundaries in his pursuit of both music and television careers.
Dre P. has an incredible 2013 planned with 8 mix tapes in the pipeline and a new album slated for release during the first quarter “L.G.4- Love, Live Grind 4-Ever”. His most anticipated solo release to date “A2” has the streets buzzing now. Along with various television shows, magazine, licensing and public appearances already confirmed, it will be a breakthrough year for the budding superstar. His singles ‘Mona Lisa’, U Can Get It’ ‘I’m From The O’, ‘and the raucous remake of Biggie’s ‘Dreams’ are standouts already generating intense interest by deejays and fans alike. “2012-13 is going to be outstanding, my goals this year are acquiring tour support, getting music placements, collaborating with artists that generate interest in other markets nationally and worldwide, hitting the Billboard 100, releasing my debut album both digitally and at bricks and mortar, having videos hit BET’s 106th&Park top 10, signing to a major label deal, more national TV, helping mom launch a workout tape and continuing to support unfortunate youth by supporting charitable organizations… in no particular order” says a very confident and handsome Dre P. Hip Hop’s self proclaimed ‘James Bond’ is ready for center stage as he prepares his yet untitled debut album for mass consumption with the help of future ‘uber’ producers, K.E on the track, Vybe and Twanbeatmaker.
