"Berdache"
by Ian Whitt
Dir.: Michael Legg
Dramaturg: Naomi Shafer

A rugged mountain hike goes burlesque as Ian Whitt traverses his own gender and sexual identity through the lens of the Native American tradition of Berdache.

"Berdache" was performed in the Victor Jory Theatre at the Actors Theatre of Louisville in Kentucky as part of the Apprentice/Intern Company's Solo Mio Project. It was developed with the help of Annie Lanzilotto, a New York based solo performance artist, and was partly inspired by the work of Avian Rush of the Rhinestone Gorilla Burlesque.
